SE16 on steroids?

Post by ironpaw » Wed Feb 02, 2011 7:20 pm

Does anybody think there is a market for a solution that solves some of the limitations of SE16 & SE16n? Or are people happy exactly the way it is.

A couple of companies we have spoken to have created their own custom zSE16 but are still frustrated. What they want is:

1) Better security around who can see what tables
2) The ability to save the table search so you can easily re-run it again.
3) Richer data output with extended ability to apply groupings, better filtering, better sorting & totals
4) Richer formatted output to spreadsheets

There already is such a thing. It's name is SE16-XXL. Google for it. It's delivered via SAP-transport.

I might have missed something but don't the SAP Query tools (SQVI, SQ01 etc) do pretty much all of this? I don't use them that much and our organisation isn't very hot on authorisations so might be wrong.

Edit: Sorry just realised how old this post was
