OutlookSoft

Post by Hot Asien Teen » Mon Sep 10, 2007 8:31 am

We have been told by SAP that BCS will be supported for exisitng customers but the future of consolidaiton is with the OutlookSoft, which ahs hits own db.

has anyone heard anything about the reusability of this and what the aquisition really means for SAP BCS customers?

Hi Has this officially been announced?
If so, do you have a link to it?
There is some discussion here but no indication of how it affects existing SEM modules:

Sorry, no news as far as I know. I have heard from SAP people who have gone to the training that there is hardly any BCS functionality covered by OS, and none of them are thinking of getting new jobs. Eliminations and COI are not, apparently, within OS's functionality, so it can only be some new front end things like monitor and look & feel items, which, havent really been refreshed recently...

anyone else hear anything?

Don't know about the BCS functionality as I'm not familiar with it at all, but SAP-BPC 5.0 does have eliminations included in the consolidation area, according to the user guides I have? Can't tell for sure as it's not implemented yet, but if such functionality is not there then SAP will have to find it as we are implementing on a fixed content, fixed price deal with SAP!
Regards.

OutlookSoft has some financial consolidation functionnalities but it won't replace BCS. From my understanding (and discussions with SAP) three products will coexist in the SAP consolidation galaxy:
- OutlookSoft for light consolidation,
- BOBJ-Fin conso (ex Cartesis) or BCS for heavier one.

In the SAP FPM (Financial Performance Management) roadmap, BCS still appears until the end of the roadmap (2H 2009) with its two "competitors".

Regards,
Fred
