need help on work flow for notifications

Post by praveen_pmcs » Fri Feb 22, 2008 10:48 am

Dear frnds,

I require some inputs about the work flow for Maintenance Notifications.

Requirement is, after creating the notification a mail from SAP business work place should trigger to the different user who is the boss of the maintenance dept. Different types of notification should go to different users like notification type M1 should go to the Elec work center user and M2 should go to the mech work center user.

Also after closing the notification the mail should trigger to the boss who is having a different user name.

Can any one explain me how to configure this with the help of work flow in detail like, where to start and where to close.

Thanks in advance.

Probably delete it along with all the other 1000s of wotkflow elements without even looking at it...

Until they get really pi**ed-off with it and remove the functionality...

Who says I'm sceptical !!!

Hi,

When people ask for this functionality, I always say be careful what you ask for :) .

We only use workflow to support business processes where action is actually required by the recipient. Information type messages usually end up being deleted by 'Rules' in the mail system.
Kind Regards,

Ron Johns.

Ron,

You could not have been more correct than this...workflow should only be used in situations when the recipient has to action further....

If it is just information messages why not set up a batch job to run a variant to list all the notifications created for each specific boss. Set this up to run daily/weekly as necessary. At least it will keep the amount of emails he has to delete to a minimum.

Bothy
