May I suggest changing "fora" to "forums"? To me, and I guess, to most of non-English speakers this version makes more sense. I could find "fora" only in M-W and not in Oxford (are you American or what?).

I think we've been here before!

There is no honest comittee, just an honest moderator...

The moderator's descision is final. There is no appeals procedure, other than this forum.

I know the thread you are talking about. It was locked as the last few replies were turning into personal ping-pong... So, if nothing else, it was off topic.

My suggestion would be to discuss, in a professional manner, the pros and cons of your service and let readers make their own minds up...

What, I am English.

Fora is simply the plural of forum. (In Oxford, Cambridge, and all great British cities!)

I am glad you are learning English this way!

Doctor, it was me (seems like we have a problem with logons today). Seriously, that was one of rare cases when I was stuck and had to check my guess in a dictionary.

(Is it like in that bombed Tora-Bora in Afghanistan? :D )

Although some other dictionaries recognise "forums" the OED doesn't...

or

"Fora" must be the correct way, but I don't think you will get ostracised if you use "forums"...

ps: tora-bora???? torums-borums!!!

My suggestion is this:

the first time you use the word 'fora', put the word forums in parenthesis.

OK, done...

BTW: Shouldn't that be parantheses...?

Don't worry, just giving it a pull...

PM-PCS Interface

Postby noworries » Thu Nov 23, 2006 5:04 pm

I posted this topic under Plant Maintenance and Interfaces because the people that respond to PM issues do not necessary look at the Interfaces forum and vice versa. I am very disappointed that my post has been locked.

I have found this site very useful in the past and although I agree with most of the rules for locking posts - especially the personal attacks which are unproductive I feel in this case it was legitimate to post my question in both forums.
Kind regards,
Jill

your post was locked but ABAP_DOCTOR still provided a link to your other topic. So, people can still see it and can decide to click on the link to answer on one central place.

actually, ABAP_DOCTOR did you a big favor by forcing people to answer in 1 topic and giving you an ooportunity to look in one central place for answer.

Rude people

Postby henleya » Wed Aug 01, 2007 3:01 pm

How do you report a user who is just rude in their response?

I asked a question and then the user sent back a personal attack. I do not appreciate this when I'm on this site for advice.

The user is XAU and I have seen this person responding to others in the same way telling them to go away and belittling them telling them they don't know anything!

Thanks.

It think it would be best to post this message in the General Discussion forum. Then things will certainly improve
In my opinion, Pepper Spray is underutilized as an effective tool for scope control
